Robert Keeley is one of the fathers of the boutique-pedal business. He gained great popularity at the turn of the millennium by modifying Ibanez and Boss pedals. Between 2009-2012 Keeley was hit by a row of crises, like his workshop burning down to the ground, declining demand for his modification services due to an influx of new pedal companies, a divorce, and a fight against addiction to prescription drugs.
Over the last years Robert Keeley and his company have made a great comeback. Today Keeley Electronics is going stronger than ever. Keeley has redesigned his whole product line-up, stopped modifying other companies’ products and keeps on releasing very interesting new pedals of his own design at a steady and deadly pace.
